Crochet a baby blanket, matching washclothes, wipescover and baby jacket. Use the left over yarns to make cute gifts.
Difficulty Level | Skills Required
Easy to Intermediate
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.
You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.
Materials
- Hook – 3, 50 mm (E)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Yarn:
Vinnis Colours Nikkim (cotton yarn) – approx 16 x 50 g balls – approx 2080 yards (1904 meters) (colors listed in patterns); Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3 : Light
Yarn and colours are only a suggestion.
– Natural x 2
– Princess Pink x 5
– Ballet Pink x 2
– Pink x 3
– Princess Mink x 2
– Princess Baby Mink x 2
Yarn Substitute:
Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the projects will differ.
Tension | Gauge
Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
Not necessary for this project to be perfect.
With the yarn, hook and my tension: 9 HDC x 4 ROWS = 2 inches x 1,2 inches (5 cm x 3 cm)
However if you use a different yarn and/or hook sizing will differ.
Size
Baby Blanket –Pattern Size: Approx 29 x 29 inches (74 x 74 cm)
Baby Jacket – Pattern Size: 0-3 month – 4, 00mm hook – Approx 10 inches (26 cm) across waist x 10 inches (26 cm) in length. Sizes: 3-6 month – 4,50mm hook; 6-12 month – 5,00 mm hook
Washcloths – Pattern Size: Approx 10 x 10 inches (26 x 26 cm)
Wipes Cover – Pattern Size: Approx 10 inch (26 cm) in length and 5, ½ inches (14 cm) in width. Cover fits standard wet wipes packet
Pattern Notes: Depending on your gauge and crochet style you might need more or less yarn.
You can use ANY yarn and hook – just use the same brand/type throughout for consistency.
