TURN FISH AROUND – BACK FACING
TOWARDS YOU
USE PHOTOS AS GUIDE
SL
ST into a loop, CH 4, SL ST into a loop
Fasten off and weave in
ends

SL ST into a center loop just below the tail

CH 4; SL ST into a center loop just opposite the tail
(at the front of the head)
Fasten off and weave in ends

A ribbon should be easily inserted through the 4 CH loop 🙂
Building your page:
Using the tails of each applique, whip-stitch each piece into place!
Little Fish:
Attach the 3 ribbons to the top of the page –

use photo as guide for placement 🙂
Weave ribbons through the loops of the small fish

I did 2; 3; then 4 🙂
Tie ribbon with knot at the bottom of the page – making sure ribbon is flat against page, but fish can move up and down ribbon.

Sea Grass:

Sew sea grass randomly on the bottom of the page –

use photos as guide 🙂
I did a little trick with one – leaving one side of a ‘leaf’ open;
The little fish can play ‘hide & seek’

I placed my sea grass so that I can sew them over the ribbons edges
– hiding the knots 🙂

The Whale:

Sew the big piece first onto your page – positioning him almost in the
center of the page – use photos as guide 🙂

I sewed on the tail

I then crocheted some teeth onto the top piece –
Join yarn with a SL ST into first back-loop;

 working in back loops only – work 3 SC into next ST;

*SL ST into next ST, work 3 SC into next ST. Repeat until you reach the center of the half circle.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Using the top piece to measure where to start your bottom teeth;

follow the same instructions 🙂

Sew top piece onto bottom piece – use photos as guide
NB: Teeth section remains open!

Attach, sew, glue, embroider an eye 🙂

I took a white ribbon – approx 30 cm and folded it to create three loops – I sewed them together. Leave a ribbon tail to help you attach this to the whale

Insert tail through the top piece of the whale and pull ribbon down securely, knot from the inside and trim ribbon 🙂

Just a note; I had to reattach my eye because I ‘popped’it off when tying the ribbon on the inside of the whale =D
So if you glue your eye it might be better to leave it until last
or at least completely dry!

9 little fish and 1 whale make 10 🙂
