
Christmas Wish Star Crochet Doily
Make this beautiful Christmas Wish Star Crochet Doily or Centerpiece to decorate your holiday table.

Christmas Wish Star Crochet Doily
SKILL LEVEL:
Easy
Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Yarn: Nurturing Fibres – Eco-Cotton DK – small amounts – approx 20/30 grams of each color for each coaster.
Color – Mist; Ruby Pink and Willow
Hook: 3.25 mm but any hook can be used depending on size required
Notes:
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.
Takes about an hour to 1 & half hours to make one (depending on how quick you crochet)
Size: approx 12 /14 inches (30/32 cm) in diameter
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet
SPECIAL STITCHES:
FPDC – front post double crochet
- Step 1: Yarn over on hook.
- Step 2: Insert hook into hole next to the post of the next stitch, on the “hook side.”
- Step 3: Bring the hook back to the front of the fabric from behind the post, to the hole farther from the hook.
- Step 4: Yarn over and draw through a loop, bringing it through both sides of the fabric. (3 loops remaining on hook)
- Step 5: Yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. (2 loops remaining on hook)
- Step 6: Yarn over and draw through remaining 2 loops on hook.
PC- popcorn
Work 5 double crochet (dc) stitches in the same stitch. Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first double crochet of the group. Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch.

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS:
With Mist – Make a magic circle OR CH 6 and SL ST to form a ring;
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 9 DC into circle/ring (10 DC); SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
RND 2: work into back-loops only for this round;
CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into SAME ST; work 2 DC into each ST all around (20 DC); SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With Rudy Pink – join yarn into any DC;
NOTE: for this round depending on your tension – if you crochet tight CH 3 in between clusters instead of 2 CH. Your star might make a bowl if your crochet too tight.
RND 3: work into back-loops only for this round;
CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into SAME ST; CH 2; SKIP 1 DC;
*work 2 DC into next DC; CH 2; SKIP 1 DC. Repeat from * all around (10 x 2 DC clusters; 10 x 2 or 3 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With Willow – join yarn into any 2 or 3 CH space
RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 DC; 3 CH; 3 DC] into SAME space;
*work 1 SC into NEXT 2 or 3 CH space; work [3 DC; 3 CH; 3 DC} into NEXT 2 or 3 CH space.
Repeat all around ( 5 x SC; 5 x corner clusters); SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
RND 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next 2 DC;
*work [3 DC; 3 CH; 3 DC] into 3 CH corner space; work 1 DC into next 3 DC; work 1 SC into next SC;
work 1 DC into next 3 DC. Repeat from * all around; omitting last 3 DC and joining with a SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With Mist – join yarn into any 3 CH corner space
RND 6: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC]; work 1 DC into next 6 DC; work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 DC into next 6 DC;
*work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next corner space; work 1 DC into next 6 DC; work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 DC into next 6 DC. Repeat from * 3 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With Ruby Pink – join yarn into any 2 CH corner space
RND 7: Work 1 PC into space ( 3 CH plus 4 DC); (SKIP next 2 DC; work 1 PC into next ST) x 5; SKIP next 2 DC.; *work 1 PC into next corner space; (SKIP next 2 DC; work 1 PC into next ST) x 5; SKIP next 2 DC.
Repeat from * 3 more times. SL ST into top of first PC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With Willow – join yarn into any corner PC
RND 8: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into top of PC;
(work 1 DC into each of the NEXT 2 SKIPPED DC of round 6; work 1 SC into top of next PC} x 5;
work 1 DC into each of the NEXT 2 SKIPPED DC of round 6.
*Work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into next corner PC;
(work 1 DC into each of the NEXT 2 SKIPPED DC of round 6; work 1 SC into top of next PC} x 5;
work 1 DC into each of the NEXT 2 SKIPPED DC of round 6.
Repeat from * 3 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
RND 9: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next DC;
*work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into corner space; work 1 DC into each DC and SC across (19 STS);
repeat from * 4 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With Mist – join yarn into any 2 CH corner space
RND 10: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into corner; work 1 DC into next 6 DC;
(work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 DC into next 2 DC) x 4; work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 DC into next 6 DC.
*Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC]; work 1 DC into next 6 DC;
(work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 DC into next 2 DC) x 4; work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 DC into next 6 DC.
Repeat from * 3 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.

With Ruby Pink – join yarn into any 2 CH corner space
RND 11: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into corner;
(CH 3; SKIP 2 STS; work 1 TR into next ST) x 9 ; CH 3;
*work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into next corner; (CH 3; SKIP 2 STS; work 1 TR into next ST) x 9 ; CH 3.
Repeat from * 3 more times. SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With Willow – join yarn into any 2 CH corner space
RND 12: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into corner; work 1 DC into next 2 DC;
(SKIP the 3 CH; work 1 DC into each of the 2 SKIPPED sts of round 10; work 1 FPDC around TR) x 9
(SKIP the 3 CH; work 1 DC into each of the 2 SKIPPED sts of round 10; work 1 DC into next 2 DC.
*Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into corner; work 1 DC into next 2 DC;
(SKIP the 3 CH; work 1 DC into each of the 2 SKIPPED sts of round 10; work 1 FPDC around TR) x 9
(SKIP the 3 CH; work 1 DC into each of the 2 SKIPPED sts of round 10; work 1 DC into next 2 DC.

RND 13: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); ; work 1 DC into each ST all around; work 3 SC into each 2 CH corner space. SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH.
