This Scrapsumptious Crochet Bag part of the Scrapsumtious Crochet Along.
The choice is yours to crochet a bag, a cushion or a blanket.

Scrapsumptious Crochet Bag

Difficulty Level | Skills Required

Easy
Basic stitches in simple variations, shaping and finishing.

You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.

Materials

• Hook – 4, 00 mm (G)
• Scissors
• Yarn needle

Yarn:

Vinnis Colours – DK Nikkim 100% cotton (50 grams/119 meters)
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.

Approx. 6 x balls / 780 meters / 714 yards

• A – Natural
• B – Sunshine
• C – Princess Pink
• D – Ballet Pink
• E – Pink
• F – Raspberry
• G – Pale Lilac
• H- Dark Purple

Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.

Tension | Gauge

Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
However COUNTING your stitches will ensure a true success of this project!

Size

Bag – approx. 38 x 38 cm (15 x 15 inches)

Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your bag will be a different size!

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS:

Part One – RND 1-9

Part Two – RND 10-15

Part Three – RND 16 -21

Part Four – Back Panel

Part Five – Joining & Bobble Trim

Flower Appliques:

Make 5 – 2 x H and 3 x F. (1 x each of color if making optional keychain)

With B – make a magic circle / or CH 6 and SL ST into first CH worked.

RND 1: CH 2; work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into first DC worked.
(12 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With H/F – join into any DC.

RND 2: CH 7; work 1 SC into 2^nd CH from hook; work 1 SC into next CH; work 1 HDC into each of next 2 CH; work 1 DC into each of next 2 CH; SKIP next DC.
Repeat from * to ** 5 more times; SL ST into join DC.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing (approx. 30 cm/12 inches).

Sew flowers onto back panel of bag.
