Scrapsantastic Crochet Throw Part Nine – Free Crochet Along

The Scrapsantastic Crochet Throw Part Nine is part of  a fun, unique blanket crochet along worked in a variety of stitches and squares. A puzzle constructed as you crochet.

Abbreviations:  US Terminology

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS

Section Six – Chevron Panel

Colors:

·         A – Lilac ·         B – Princess Aqua ·         C – Avocado

·         D – Princess Salmon ·         E – Purple Pink ·         F – Grey

With A and 4, 00 mm – join CH 209 (pattern stitch dividable by 23 x 9 = 207 plus 2 for foundation)

RS – ROW 1: Work 2 SC into 2^nd CH from hook; *work 1 SC into each of next 10 CH; SKIP next 2 CH; work 1 SC into each of next 10 CH; work 3 SC into next CH. ** Repeat from * to ** 7 more times; work 1 SC into each of next 10 CH; SKIP next 2 CH; work 1 SC into each of next 10 CH; work 2 SC into last CH. (208 SC – 9 x Chevron Points) TURN.

WS – ROW 2: CH 1; work 2 SC into FIRST SC; *work 1 SC into each of next 10 SC; SKIP next 2 SC; work 1 SC into each of next 10 SC; work 3 SC into next SC. ** Repeat from * to ** 7 more times; work 1 SC into each of next 10 SC; SKIP next 2 SC; work 1 SC into each of next 10 SC; work 2 SC into last SC. (208 SC – 9 x Chevron Points) Fasten off and weave in ends.

Repeat ROW 2 for the pattern as follows:
Note – two rows are worked in a color then fastened off.

With B: RS-ROW 3 WS-ROW 4

With C: RS-ROW 5 WS-ROW 6

With D: RS-ROW 7 WS-ROW 8

With E: RS-ROW 9 WS-ROW 10

With F: RS-ROW 11 WS-ROW 12

Little Circle:

Section One – Make 8

Colors:

• Deep Purple (make 4)
• Peacock (make 4)

With A and 3, 50 mm – make a magic circle (this is recommended, however if you do not know how or struggle with this method, CH 4; SL ST into 4 CH from hook to form a ring.)

RND 1: CH 2 (does NOT count as a stitch); work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into first DC worked.
(12 DC)

RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into SAME DC. Work 2 DC into each DC all around;
SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH. (24 DC) Fasten off and weave in ends.

Joining Little Circles to Chevron Panel

Colors:

• A – Grey

With A and 4, 00 mm – join into first CH of Chevron Panel foundation CH – right side facing.

Joining ROW: Work 1 SC into each of first 10 CH; work 3 SC into 2 CH space; work 1 SC into each of next 5 CH; SL ST into any DC of Little Circle; work 1 SC into each of next 5 CH; SKIP Space; work 1 SC into each of next 5 CH; SL ST into 8^th DC of Little Circle; work 1 SC into each of next 5 CH.
*Work 3 SC into next 2 CH space; work 1 SC into each of next 5 CH; SL ST into any DC of Little Circle; work 1 SC into each of next 5 CH; SKIP Space; work 1 SC into each of next 5 CH; SL ST into 8^th DC of Little Circle; work 1 SC into each of next 5 CH. **
Repeat from * to **  6 more times; work 3 SC into next 2 CH space; work 1 SC into each of last 10 CH. (180 SC; 9 x 3 SC groups; 16 x SL STS)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Joining Section Six to Section Five

Colors:

• A – Grey

With A and 4, 00 mm – join into SC of Section Five ROW 36 – right side facing.

Joining ROW: Work 1 SC into first SC; work 1 SC into each of next 3 SC; SL ST into 2^nd of 3 SC group of Chevron Point; work 1 SC into each of next 8 SC; SL ST into 8^th DC of Little Circle.
*Work 1 SC into each of next 8 SC; SL ST into 2^nd of 3 SC group of Chevron Point; work 1 SC into each of next 8 SC; SL ST into 8^th DC of Little Circle. ** Repeat from * to ** 6 more times; work 1 SC into each of next 8 SC; SL ST into 2^nd of 3 SC group of Chevron Point; work 1 SC into each of last of 4 SC.
(136 SC; 17 x SL STS)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
