Scrapsantastic Crochet Throw Part Eleven – Free Crochet Along

The Scrapsantastic Crochet Throw Part Eleven is part of  a fun, unique blanket crochet along worked in a variety of stitches and squares. A puzzle constructed as you crochet.

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS

TIP: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST – The math for the border was a big trial and error. Ensure the stitch count is correct at the end of this part.

Border:

Colors:

• A – Grey
• B – Lilac
• C – Princess Aqua

With A and 4, 00 mm

RND 1: With right side facing – FIRST CORNER – join into 1 CH corner space of first Section Seven Hexagon with a SC; CH 11; *work 1 SC into next 1 CH corner space; CH 10; work 1 DC into join; CH 10. **
Repeat from * to ** 7 more times; work 1 SC into next 1 CH corner space.

SECOND CORNER – CH 11; work 1 SC into next 1 CH corner space.

THIRD CORNER – CH 31; *Work 1 SC into next 1 CH corner space; CH 10; work 1 DC into join; CH 10. **Repeat from * to ** 6 more times; work 1 SC into next 1 CH corner space.

FORTH CORNER – CH 31.

RND 2: SL ST into starting SC; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into each of next 5 CH;
FIRST CORNER – work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next CH; work 1 DC into each of next 4 CH.
*Work 3DCtog over next CH + ST + CH; work 1 DC into each of next 8 CH. **
Repeat from * to ** 15 more times; work 3DCtog over next CH + ST + CH; work 1 DC into each of next 4 CH.
(156 DC between corners)

SECOND CORNER – work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next CH; work 1 DC into each of next 5 CH.
Work 1 DC into next 24 SC;
work 1 DC into each of next 10 CH;
work 1 DC into each of next 144 SC;
work 1 DC into each of next 15 CH.
(202 DC between corners)

THIRD CORNER – work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next CH; work 1 DC into each of next 14 CH.
*Work 3DCtog over next CH + ST + CH; work 1 DC into each of next 8 CH. **
Repeat from * to ** 13 more times; work 3DCtog over next CH + ST + CH; work 1 DC into each of next 14 CH.
(159 DC between corners) – Note: this side has temporarily 3 STS more than corresponding side.

FOURTH CORNER – work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next CH; work 1 DC into each of next 15 CH.
Work 1 DC into each of next 144 SC;
work 1 DC into each of next 10 CH
work 1 DC into next 24 SC; SL ST into 3^rd of 3 CH.
(202 DC between corners)

Fasten off and weave in ends.
